This film is not just about meat. It is a study of barbecue as a way of life, as a “path to salvation”.

I worked very closely on the score with director Matthew Salleh. We decided to predominantly use classical chamber-like ensembles, hinting on a connection to religious music from the Baroque.This prompted a heavy use of strings in the score, and to assist in this, we asked Associate Principal 2nd Violin of ASO, Lachlan Bramble to provide his expertise.

Central Texas Barbecue, by Urtext Films, has been selected and screened at both the Melbourne and Sydney International Film Festivals.
